TheOtherSide

In the midst of this terrible event, I've managed to set up a much better photo viewing experience. I'm now a total blog-convert...and set up a photoblog. It's super easy for me to add new photos, and super easy for you to leave all the comments you want, positive or negative, on whichever picture you want. There's quite a few more on there that are PREVIOUSLY UNVIEWED (wow) so if you got some time to kill that's my suggestion. :P All the shots were taken with my Fuji S7000 6MP Digital Camera. Any post processing is either very apparent or so subtle it's not worth mentioning. Okay, cool everybody, thanks for stopping by.

TheBodhiBlog contains the words of my travels.
Here is TheOtherSide. The eyes.

Hi Bodhi, Debby here. Just a quick note to let you know that we are so glad to hear you are safe, first of all. I've been in communication with Yoko and we were relieved to learn that she's back home and safe as well. And second, although I have only had a few minutes to read through some of your posts, I am appreciating the writing and your perspective very much. And last, I don't know if you remember Yoko's teacher David Nikias, but he is in Sri Lanka right now, and had been since the 17th, traveling with his son Gabriel, who is now 13. His family finally was able to get direct telephone contact with him, found out that they were in the interior of the island when the tsunami hit, and are also, thankfully, safe and well. Right now the house is full and continuing to fill with the "re-union" crowd. (We are missing Yoko.)We all go onto the internet a few times a day for updates and info of Asia, and we are all sending our love and care. We have just found some comparison figures such as: The first pledged relief amount from the US (15 million) was roughly half of what the Republican Party is projected to spend on the inaugural party. (The US has since pledged 35 million with the statement that more will be added to that figure.) To put it into perspective, the US is currently spending 35 million every 7 hours on the war in Iraq. None of it makes any humanitarian sense of course, and it will be up to the citizens of this country to do what our government will not. So, we send dollars as well as love and care. Do continue to take care and know that those here are thinking of you lots.much love,Debby
