Get a clue!

July 20th, 2017

The Cleu is a reminder of who you really are, where we all come from, and why we’re all One. To keep your inner clue strong, we encourage you to look for people with a clue and meet regularly in small groups, face-to-face. Not just to talk, eat, and enjoy each others’ company, but to gather your collective energy on behalf of your vision and values. Take some time to celebrate the human rites of music, art, dance, drum, song, and story. Revel in a direct experience of At-Onement. Build a supportive network and shared infrastructure that helps sustain you all physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The Cleu vision is that of a world in harmony, where we are At-One with the miracles we depend on: Universe, Earth, Life, Consciousness.

Explore creative and effective ways to support action on behalf of the Earth, Life, and Consciousness. Get a deeper understanding of the universal language of Science. Learn more about the scientific method, investigative journalism, and academic credibility so that you can better distinguish fact from fiction. Value truth, equality, respect and love for all life on our precious planet, a pale blue dot in an amazing Universe. Come together to empower a new paradigm of Truth, Love, and Science. Resist ignorance, injustice, and lies. Learn to prioritize better choices for Air, Water, Food, and Energy. Discover the egalitarian, creative power of the circle.

When you are ready, you could even use the religious freedom granted by the first Amendment of the Bill of Rights to turn your circle into a legal church with its own gathering place, school, garden, library, and childcare. Did you know that you can donate half your income to a church of your choice? What if your church was made up of your friends and community? You could rent a gathering place, go on a pilgrimage together, or buy a set of drums, music equipment, or art supplies for your celebrations. You could apply for faith-based federal funding for social services, engage in community development activities, or start your own church-sponsored businesses, such as bookstores, coffee shops, and retreat centers, mostly tax-exempt and free from government interference. You have more power than you realize.

Stand up for Truth, Love, Science. We’re here to help you get started. Get a clue!

Come together to be the clue

April 30th, 2017

In this era of fake news, mass migration, political instability, and climate crisis, people need a clue more than ever. As a country, we face threats to democracy, freedom, and the environment. People are taking to the streets and fields challenging powerful interests against steep odds. On the front lines, Native Americans have come together, along with veterans, climate activists, and other allies, to obstruct those who would jeopardize their land and water with an oil pipeline. Water belongs to all. Water is Life!

Recently, more than three million men and women marched in cities around the globe in an historic demonstration on behalf of human rights. In aerial images, humanity looks like one organism, a higher collective consciousness yearning for justice, truth, and harmony. Here in America we are engaged in a global social experiment, a melting pot and multi-colored tapestry of cultures and religions, founded on the ideals of liberty and equality. We are the Dream for the rest of the world. If we can find harmony here, the whole world can find harmony. When we come together as one, we experience the power of collective consciousness.

On Earth Day, April 22nd, scientists and their supporters all over the country held a March for Science in Washington DC and in satellite marches all over the world. Science is an established consensus of many, a global agreement about the facts, and a skeptical methodology that tests for truth and accuracy. The whole world got a clue about climate change by using scientific methods, rigorously peer-reviewed evidence, and consensus according to academic standards. In the 2015 Paris agreement, the countries of the world agreed to mitigate global warming by pledging to reduce emissions. On April 29th, the People’s Climate March will take place in DC and in marches and rallies all over. As 350.org says, “to change everything, we need everyone.” Be there!

Here in the U.S., climate science and policy information continues to be removed from federal websites, and scientists are concerned that their data may be next. The public relations industry continues to cast doubt on science, and the media presents a misleading debate that belies scientific consensus. People with a clue must stand up for consciousness, choosing to act in accordance with our best understanding of who we are. We look to science, our collective understanding, to provide the most rational and informed perspective. Through science, we recognize that we are one people on one planet, our only home.

Circle Up!

The Cleu represents our spiritual community, its intertwining circles a unifying symbol of our vision and values. Many people find the Cleu through word-of-mouth, have friends tell them to Get a Cleu, or may be given a Cleu pendant as a gift. Follow the clues to realize your own path, and be open to inviting others to join you on the way.

Wearing the Cleu
feels good because it connects us. Hearing someone else say, “you have a Cleu!” can be a surprising and satisfying experience. Finding others with a Cleu can be as easy as going with the flow, following the path of synchronicities to that special moment of connection. You may feel that your particular spirituality is unique, but the Cleu symbol makes it easier to recognize others who share your perspective and serves as a continual reminder that you are not alone.

Your spirit is the result of your choices. When you connect with others on the level of vision and values, your spirit grows bigger because your choices touch more people. In circle, everyone can participate and contribute for the benefit of the group as a whole as well as its members. When you come together in a circle with a common spiritual purpose, your collective spirit strengthens and empowers your choices. Circles who choose to share energy and resources for common goals multiply the effect of all the individual members. Circles thrive when members meet regularly to celebrate human rites and practices. Develop your spiritual community. The CLEU is here to help, so let us know how it goes. Circle up!

To Change Everything, We Need Everyone

September 29th, 2014

Over 400,000 people participated in the People’s Climate March (September 2014) in New York City, along with over 2500 solidarity events around the world, representing all of us who care about the future. Take a moment to reflect on these messages from the different marching blocs:
It takes everyone to change everything;
The debate is over;
We know who is responsible;
We have solutions;
We can build the future;
Honor those on the front lines of crisis, the forefront of change.

Participants paused in silence to reflect for a few minutes on the consequences of climate chaos to those on the frontlines, including indigenous communities and farmers, coastal and island people, desert to forest dwellers, and all those who suffer environmental injustice. A most inspiring and unifying message was demonstrated so beautifully that it now defines our global climate movement: To change everything, we need everyone.

Together, we are the clue!

Caravanning towards the Future

August 11th, 2014

Every year, Cleu Camp makes a pilgrimage to the desert where our combined efforts create Black Rock City, a place where there is no trading or bartering, no buying or selling, just gift-giving and human interactions that are free of commerce. This is a temporary autonomous zone, a place where we can choose how to define ourselves, sharing and participating with others who are as free as we are. Sure, there is law enforcement in Black Rock City, reminding us that the world defined by counties, states, and federal government still has some authority. However, our collective creativity brings into being a city where most of us feel safer than anywhere else, where we feel more protected and supported than in any other city in the world.

Black Rock City is made up of many camps, all converging in a single place, coming together with a shared intention: to give, to celebrate, to release, to enjoy! We follow the 10 principles of BurningMan: radical inclusion, gifting, decommodification, radical self-reliance, radical self-expression, communal effort, civic responsibility, leaving no trace, participation, and immediacy. We become bigger than ourselves when we join together in our Cleu caravan, and bigger than our own group when our caravan becomes part of Black Rock City. We share, support, and protect each other, and give freely of our time and energy to create a city that we want to live in.

When you contemplate the future, think about the road you are on. If you are traveling alone, look around to see who else is moving in the same direction. Form or join with others who share Cleu values. Go camping or do other things that require you to share resources and work cooperatively. Give your Cleu circle wheels, and let it roll!

Return to your Roots

September 8th, 2013

Going on pilgrimage gives us a chance to experience more cooperative ways of living by spending these precious days working and playing together face-to-face. We abandon our cell phones and electronic devices choosing instead to rely on each other. Cleu camp is an opportunity for all of us to appreciate the feeling of belonging that comes from living and working together. We experience At-Onement because we commit to each other and our camp. When we return to our roots, we discover that we have the power to manifest the reality we desire. Black Rock City is our collective dream, an amazing city magically appearing on the playa through the efforts of people who take this special time together to create art and to celebrate community, and above all, to live closer to our human roots.
