Want to change the world?

September 10th, 2012

We’ve just returned from our annual pilgrimage to BurningMan where we gave away over 1100 Cleus to dusty pilgrims who used only word-of-mouth or the Cleu labyrinth to find their way to Cleu camp, located way out on the edge of Black Rock City. Meeting people from all over this fantastic city gave me a vision of circles connecting with circles. Intertwining circles made for magical synchronicities and spontaneous creativity every day on the empty canvas of the playa. My own Cleu reminds me daily of the power of the circle.

Want to change the world? Meet regularly in circle. Start with 2-3 people who either have a clue or are looking for one. Remember: everyone has a clue, but not everyone wants to know about it, and some people deny or reject their clue. Look for people who are open to the mystic truth of At-Onement and the miracles of Consciousness, Life, Earth, Universe. Take a look at the Cleu Book to see more about our vision as well as our human rites and spiritual practices. Get together every week. Make that your first intention. Commit to meeting together in circle as indigenous people have done for millenia. Everything else will follow.

Isles of Wonder: London 2012

July 27th, 2012

Instead of the usual experienced athlete, seven teenagers with potential lit the Olympic cauldron at the London 2012 Olympics. From the Olympic torch, they passed the flame to 204 petals representing all the nations competing in the Olympics. When the petals were raised, they formed one glorious blossom, shining as One.

We are all Olympians. Reflect on those moments when synchronicities occur, patterns or coincidences that seem like magic, except that they are part of the fabric of the universe. Envision a piece of medieval chainmail, a rippling metal fabric made of interlocking circles. When we connect, synchronicities happen. Meeting in circle and connecting with other circles provides both power and protection, making us strong, flexible, and resilient. Whether we engage in friendly competition, or cooperate to create a greater harmony, we belong together. When we can do both for the benefit of all, we excel.

Welcome to the American Spring!

March 19th, 2012

An American Spring is unfolding in Occupy Wall Street actions all over our country. Now is the time to deepen our commitment to nonviolence. We must find creative, humorous ways to send a message. Use catchy, inclusive slogans, inspiring songs and chants, and sincere good will to reach out with compassion to those who are afraid and those who protect for them. Talk to people outside of the movement, and take the time to really listen to their concerns. Focus on rebuilding our communities from the inside out. This takes time, and it means living more cooperatively, reducing consumerism, boycotting unethical corporations, and transforming our democracy so that it serves people, not profits. To counter fear, we must occupy love!

Now is the time to think globally, and act locally. Use the Cleu as a meme that represents a vision of our common humanity. Gather in circle with people who share this vision of who we are and where we come from. We are heading to a new paradigm of At-Onement, but we need to put this idea into practice. Study the Cleu Book to find common ground in our values, rites, and practices. Experience At-Onement in music, art, dance, drum, song, story, and even when chanting and marching together. We are One! By setting an intention, Cleu circles make things happen. As a circle, you can share resources, create networks of connection, and make a difference in your local community. Be the change you wish to see in the world. Be the clue!

I have a dream

January 16th, 2012

I have a dream that one day everyone will wake up and get a clue! Better yet, wake up and be the clue. We need you! Martin Luther King tells us that “Human salvation lies in the hands of the creatively maladjusted.” If you have a clue, you are likely to be a cultural creative, uncomfortable with the dominant cultural paradigm of materialism, militarism, and mainstream religion. The CLEU is here to help you find your way to a new cultural paradigm based on our common vision and values. We support you in claiming your spiritual identity and developing your spiritual community. Wear your Cleu and share its meaning. Look for others who have a clue and meet weekly in circle. Read the Cleu Book and discuss how to put your values into action. Celebrate your human rites. Pool your resources and build infrastructure. Go on pilgrimage. Reach out to others. Work together for a better world. Become part of something bigger than yourself. I have a dream that someday there will be a Cleu circle in every community!

Happy Cleu Year!

December 31st, 2011

Congratulations on making 2011 one of the most inspiring years ever, and now get ready for 2012! You’ve made it this far on the strength of your convictions, your willingness to show up, and the power of creative memes spreading a message of compassion and a cry for justice far and wide. Even when facing arrest or state violence, people of all ages continue to dedicate themselves to making a difference. Global consciousness is awakening, thanks to the power of choosing to occupy a common space. People are speaking with one voice on behalf of humanity, Life, and the Earth. The technology of social media helps to facilitate global connections and resource sharing, but the real power is in meeting face-to-face on a regular basis. Now is the time to develop local, sustainable networks. As we move into the winter of our occupation, we need more than political organizations because at its heart, this is truly a spiritual movement. In the coming year, let’s get together even more!

Occupy Your Community

October 10th, 2011

Here at Outpost One, we are following Occupy Wall Street events all over the country. “We are the 99%!” is a message that speaks to all of us. As the CLEU, we are thrilled to see how the Occupy events have created a model of non-hierarchical, decentralized, horizontal organization with open assembly, transparency, and consensus. The occupiers show us what democracy looks like and demonstrate that a better world is possible. People gather to stand against corporate greed and political corruption, and to give voice to their frustration and anger against a system that supports profits over people. Young and old, we will no longer be silent. We are growing hope, and we are not going away. Now is the time to stand up for our planet and its people. As Naomi Klein says, Occupy Wall Street is “the most important thing in the world right now.”

Want to join in the paradigm shift? Get a Cleu and a Cleu book, and then find others who share your vision and values. Meet weekly, contribute to a common pool of resources, and practice consensus. Subscribe to our seasonal email CleuViews, and when you give us your zipcode, we’ll help you find people with a clue. Occupy your community!
